My Hiatus is Over!!

Its been quite awhile since I posted a blog on my site, and to all my friends and fans, thank you for your understanding & patience.  I promise....I am now committed to making it a habit to blog, document,  and keep you all in the loop! Please join in!!!

Today was a beautiful day! I hung out with my favorite puppy, "Buddy", and we went for a long walk and jog.  I was also overly excited to perform at Union Square in San Francisco once again. It's been nearly a full year since my last performance.

What makes performing in Union Square so special is that it is smack dab in the middle of San Francisco! Kinda like the Times Square of New York City on the west coast.  I have opportunities to share and expose people from all over the world to my music...all from one venue! San Francisco is the worlds most visited city. It even beat out Paris, so its a great spot to infect them with the Miko Marks Bug!  While performing today, I met an adorably shy little girl named Sophia. I was singing "Son My Daddy Never Had", from my sophomore CD "It Feels Good", and I had her join me in the center of the Square for a little two step!  Watching her come to life by removing her shy little hands from her face, then take my hand for a dance, was a reminder of the many  rewards of being an entertainer.  I'm 5"1, but to her....I was larger than life and she warmed my heart.

I had another eye opening experience while singing "Freeway Bound", which was the title cut from my debut CD. While having fun, and doing a lil' ad libbing,  I found these words coming out of my mouth:

"yeah there's gonna be a plaque with my name in the Country Music Hall of Fame"

I don't know where those words came from, BUT deep down from within my heart, my vision, my future, became even that much more clear as I could see the crowd was in agreement. A true revelation!

Speaking of HEART...I HAVE A LOT!   While traveling on this Country Road, performing in all sort of venues across the country, and meeting people from all walks of life, I have learned a few lessons. "Breaking the Sound Barriers" is no easy road to tow, I AM LIVING up to the challenge!  As an "UNSIGNED & UNIQUE, independent artist, living in the Bay Area,  performing "my music", can be a daunting challenge at minimum.  However, with friends and fans like you all, with your prayers, love and encouragement, I feel as though I have only just begun! So keep the well wishes prayers, support coming!

On the home front, I've been recording new material, and working on album #3 at Pajama Studios. Expect to hear my best work yet!!  I have EVOLVED...this is definitely not my first rodeo!  So get ready, the album is scheduled for release in early 2011.  Don't forget...My current two CDs can still be found at mikomarks.com and other internet music outlets.

So, let's keep this train moving in the right direction ...TOGETHER!  I need ya! As I always say, spread the word and spread it often!

Feel free to follow my blog and share it with others as this is the beginning of a wonderful ride. Also, I'd love to keep these blogs going and hear your comments and gentle well wishes!

Peace and Blessings Y'all,
